CANCELLATION NOTICE: ABET's Production of Misery

It is with deep regret that All Beaches Experimental Theatre (ABET) announces the cancellation of our production of Misery. This difficult decision comes in light of the recent fire and water damage sustained at the Players by the Sea Studio Theater, where the production was scheduled to be performed.

We are immensely grateful that no one was injured in the incident. However, the damage to the facility has made it impossible to proceed with the performances as planned. While we had eagerly anticipated sharing this gripping and thrilling production with our audiences, the safety of our artists, staff, and patrons must come first.

We stand in full support of our friends and colleagues at Players by the Sea as they navigate the challenges ahead and begin the process of recovery. Their space is a vital part of the arts community, and we are confident it will return stronger than ever.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly with information regarding refunds or exchanges. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of ABET and the Jacksonville Theater community during this time.

With gratitude and hope,
Raines Carr
Artistic Director

THE STORY: Paul Sheldon, a romance novelist, is rescued from a car crash by Annie Wilkes, who claims to be his biggest fan. Annie brings Paul to her remote cabin to recover, but she becomes enraged when she discovers that he killed off her favorite character in his latest novel. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes that she has no intention of letting him go.

THE TEAM: This thrilling production features Claire Cimino, Sam Cobean, and Brian Johnson, with direction by Bryce Cofield.

THE VENUE: All performances for this ABET production take place at Players by the Sea (106 6th St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250-5533).

A NOTE ON CONTENT: There is no official rating system for live theatre, but to offer our audience guidance with commonly understood MPAA ratings, Misery would be "Rated R."
